hi!! thanks for your comment ! It's always nice to get to know people from the same country~ I asked myself the same question when i started doing these deco stuff, where do i get the supplies ==! I use air dry clay. I first began using Crayola model magic when i first saw it in Spotlight, and then i went off to buy some Japanese clay online. If you can go to Queen Street, there's a Japan shop that sells cheap paper clay, but paper clay is not as durable as polymer, and you could get polymer clay from Spotlight and Gorden Harris. Hope this is helpful~
Thanks for the quick reply on a Saturday evening! hehe ^^
Funny thing is, I actually work in a craft(like) shop! We used to sell Polymer, but my boss stopped stocking it before I discovered what it was! She said that it wasn't a very good seller in her opinion. Boo... maybe I'll try and convince her to start stocking it again. I'm from Auckland actually, so I'm really familiar with the interesting little Japanese stores on Queen Street! Did you see that there was a new one that opened in downtown? It's very similar to $3.00 Japan. I'll have to check it out the next time I'm there, I'll keep you posted on what I find! Otherwise I'll just go to Gordon Harris. People are always giving me vouchers from there because I'm a poor design student XD
And thanks, I made my icon myself *shamelessly proud* XD
haha, where do you work?? The paper clay i am talking about is from the new Jap shop, i was very disappointed that the old jap shop didnt have clay, so i had to buy it to try it out from the new shop. I love these shops, it has so much cute stuff and i wish they have more craft stuff in there. I study architecture at AU so Gorden Harris is like the main supplier for me.. envy you for the vouchers! I am actually doing work right now... >_<.. the whole project is due on friday. Late sleep for the whole week aiiii
I studied Graphic design, so I literally used to camp out in Gordon Harris before an assignment was due XD I've probably spent more in that shop that I have with my year of tuition *fail*. I know a friend of mine studies at AU Architecture! I think she's graduating soon. From what I hear she's getting excited to get her social life back from the faculty haha.
I work in an emporium store! the closest one to the city is Mt Eden. We sell like all sorts of things. Fabrics, paints, buttons, haby stuff. It's like spotlight, but budget-looking like looksharp. Ohoho. The only clay we sell is Cernit though. I tried it once, but the texture was really waxy and it snapped really easily >.<;
sorry for the late reply, i just had a very tiring week, i slept at 4 each day T_T.. it was horrible! I think your friend is one year lower then me because i graduated this year, but i am doing masters, i wasnt feeling excited at all... there is still more works! i went to Daiso yesterday and saw some really cute chocolate moulds, i bought 2, they were a pocky stick one and one you make a chocolate case and you can put candies inside it is really cute!
woah i havent been on DA for like the longest time and i was just browsing around, and this was the only thing that caught my eye uve just inspired me to start again on my clay creations hehe one ques tho how did u make the whip cream?
Same, i haven't been on DA for 2 years, and i saw some real inspiring crafts and i just want to post the ones i made during these 2 years!! For the whipped cream, i mixed water with air dry clay. And i also bought the Fuwa Fuwa whip cream, but they are really fragile T_T. So i only use it as a cream filling~~ Looking forward to see your work!
